Diaz Finds Herself in ‘The Box’ |
Cameron Diaz has signed on to star in Darko Entertainment’s “The Box,” Richard Kelly’s horror-thriller follow up to “Donnie Darko.”
The film is centered on an unhappy married couple who discover a box that grants them instant wealth, but kills someone the holder’s don’t know. The story was adapted by Kelly from a short story by Richard Matheson titled “Button, Button.” Diaz will play the wife who bears the box. The rest of the cast will be named shortly. Filming of “The Box” is scheduled to being in Virginia around November. The full funding for the feature has been provided by Media Rights Capital, who was behind the funding for “Babel” and other independent successes, and is estimated to be around $30 million.
