 Eureka The Sci Fi Channel has reached the final stage of negotiations for a second season renewal of its scripted series Eureka. The pickup of the show was an easy decision considering that it has performed solidly in the Neilson ratings. The show has averaged 2.76 million total viewers for the 11 weeks beginning with a two hour premiere July 18.
In the past few episodes, Eureka “has hit its pulse and its heart” said president of Sci Fi, Bonnie Hammer. “It’s reaching its stride in character development, and blends mystery with quirky humor.”
Fueled by Eureka and original scripted series such as Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, and, the final season of Stargate SG-1, the Sci Fi Channel wound up as the 10th highest rated network in total primetime viewers for the third quarter, and finished ninth overall among those 25-54, the channels target demographic.
