Winslow Media and New Line Cinema have announced that Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson will star in their upcoming 3-D film, “Journey 3-D.” The project is an update of Jules Verne’s classic science fiction novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” and will be directed by Eric Brevig and produced by Charlotte Higgins. Fraser will be an executive producer on the project.
Fraser will play a scientist who takes his troubled nephew, played by Hutcherson, with him during a visit to Iceland. During their travels, they uncover a mystery and embark on a series of adventures that take them beneath the Earth’s surface and expose them to strange, previously undiscovered animals and places. If the current schedule holds, the project will start shooting June 10th in Montreal.
