“The Mutant Chronicles,” an upcoming sci-fi thriller based on the role-playing game by Philip Eisner and Ross Jameson, has added several stars to its cast and will begin shooting this summer. John Malkovich and Thomas Jane will star in the feature, along with Benno Furmann, Stephen Rea (‘V for Vendetta”), and Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”). Jane stars as Lt. Mitch Hunter, a Marine living in the 23rd-century who must lead a group of soldiers against evil NecroMutants who are plotting to take over the Earth. Perlman will play the leader of a religious sect that seeks Hunter’s help and Malkovich stars as the leader of a vast group of world-domineering corporations. “Chronicles” will be directed By Simon Hunter with Edward R. Pressman producing. In addition to the film, the story will also be featured in comic books from Dark Horse, and in several games, including a role-playing game from C.O.G. Games and an additional miniatures game from Fantasy Flight Games.
