Lodie was approached in late 2005 to help head up and be the supervising editor of the Sci Fi Studios Magazine with Larry Nemecek and Alan Anderton. Not realising just how much work would be needed to develop a magazine from the ground up, she agreed and for the following 10 months spent a great deal of her free time planning and organising this publication along with her colleagues and later the writers. Despite the time and occasional ‘freak out’, she has loved every minute of it!
In the real world Lodie has an honours degree in archaeology/Palaeoanthropology, and spends a great chunk of the year traveling across Australia for her archaeology work. She was born into a family that loved sci-fi so she had no choice but to love the genre, her favourite shows are Star Trek (in all its forms), Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, Firefly, Babylon 5, Lost and every other sci-fi show in existence, well almost every one. Apart from TV, Lodie enjoys writing fiction and non-fiction, reading, history, astronomy, archaeology, palaeoanthropolgy, talking to and training her eccentric budgie (parakeet), bushwalking and much, much more!
