With Sci Fi Studios all about inviting and nurturing new talent and feedback in entertainment, it reminds us just how the industry has been shaken up thanks to fandom. No longer is "the biz" such a remote mystery: As fanzines begat professional writers and editors, as CGI visual effects begat a whole generation of space battles and fantasy armies created on a laptop, so now are digital cameras, editing and Internet video channels opening up the booming "hobby" of genre fan films to nearly anyone who takes the leap.

Three writers have written up their views in more detail, lets see how they compare to each other and what you've told us!
Jaydin's predictions:
Book Seven is bound to be the most dark of all the Harry Potter adventures. I think Hogwarts will play a big roll because it seems to be the one place that Voldemort felt comfortable. I think the school will reopen because there is no safer place for the students. The Death Eaters got in because of Draco, with him gone they would have to find another way to infiltrate the gates. I also think that Harry will return. I think he will either need Dumbledore's pensieve to find the remaining horcruxes or they will be hidden at the school somewhere. I also feel that Hogwart's would be the perfect place for the final showdown since it is the one place where both Harry and Voldemort were made to feel welcome. It is the only place where either one truly felt at home.
As for who will join Harry, I think Ron & Hermione are givens. They have always been there for each other. Ginny will join him because she loves him. Dobby will also help him. Even when Harry freed Dobby, the house elf was proud to serve Harry by following Draco. I think Draco will also join Harry in the end. Draco was on the fence about killing Dumbledore. He told Dumbledore that he had to kill him or Voldemort would kill his family. His murderous attempts were lame even in Dumbledore's eyes since Draco knew there was little chance of the items ever reaching Dumbledore. Not to mention the fact that he cried to Moaning Myrtle about not being able to do it. Voldemort will want him for nothing unless it is to make him an example. Snape, I believe, was working for Dumbledore the whole time. I believe Dumbledore asked Snape to "kill" him. Hagrid overheard them argue and Snape said he wouldn't do it but Dumbledore reminded him that he promised. That, combined with Dumbledore's unwavering trust in Snape, makes me think they had it all planned. Also, Dumbledore told Draco that he wouldn't be killed by Voldemort for not killing Dumbledore if Voldemort believed he were already dead. He told Draco that he could arrange that and to hide him. He could surely do the same for himself. Making sure that Harry "witnessed" it was the perfect touch. As for the "chosen one," I'm going out on a limb here and say that it was Neville all along. Book Six is full of references to Harry being the "one" simply because Voldemort believed it to be true. Dumbledore says that no matter what now, Voldemort would go for Harry even if he wasn't really the chosen one because his own actions made Harry the one who would fight him. If not for Voldemort, Harry wouldn't have the power (love) that can defeat him. But alas, I didn't pass my Divination O.W.L. exam, so we shall see!
Scott's opinions:
First, I agree that Deathly Hallows will be filled with a lot of killings and will be the darkest of all of the books. Many of the characters that we have gotten to know at least a little bit, mostly from the Order, will not make it to see Voldemorts final demise. Harry will not want to attend Hogwarts and I am not sure whether it will officially reopen as a school, probably not, but much of the action will take place there, especially since two Horcruxes represent Gyiffindor and Ravenclaw. This is also the place that Voldemort loved the most and considered his precious home and the place that Harry, Ron, and Hermione know most of the secret passageways and other things that can help protect them in their battle against Voldemort.
I think that there will be some trouble and the first few deaths will occur at Bill and Fleur's wedding. Most of the main kids from Harry's and Dumbledore's Army, the ones who went to the Ministry to fight in Book 5, including Neville, Luna, Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione will all be involved in the battles at Hogwarts. I think that Fred and George will be fighting there too along with Lupin, Tonks, Hagrid, and Professor McGonagall. Voldemort will absolutely be after Harry and even though Harry will understand that he must try to kill Voldemort, others will be protecting Harry. Snape will turn out to be good and will prove himself to Harry in the end. It was Dumbledore's plan to have Snape kill him or at the very least have him appear to be dead and to do it in front of Harry. It was also part of the plan to save Draco and help him because he is not that evil. I think that Snape will try to sacrifice himself to both keep his word to protect Draco, and will also try to protect Harry. Snape will be killed, but Harry will know once and for all that Snape always was a good guy.
In the final battle, Harry will have to prove that love will conquer all, and he, like his mother, will have to make the ultimate sacrifice, most likely while trying to protect Ginny, Ron, or Hermione. Voldemort will thus try to kill Harry, but will only kill and destroy that part of his soul and consciousness that was left in Harry, that connection that the two had. It will be that Voldemort won't realize that he is killing himself. Harry will live. I believe in this scenario mostly because J. K. Rowling has made it clear that murdering someone is a terrible thing and makes you evil. Harry and his friends are good and must remain that way, thus never actually killing anyone, even Voldemort. Sacrifice and love are the most powerful weapons and the things that make someone good and not evil. I am unsure exactly which of the other main characters will die, but I think it has to be somone who we all do like, such as Hagrid, or Neville. J.K. Rowling has admitted that she originally, very early on when developing the series, had in mind of killing off a real major character, but changed her mind, because as her writing kept going she came to love the character too much and just couldn't do it. I don't think that she meant Harry, because even though this would ensure that no other writer or Rowling, herself, can continue the story, it just wouldn't be good to have evil triumph in any way. Personally, I think she meant Ron, because he is Harry's best friend, the first one he met, and a character that we all truly love. Harry would have no problem killing Voldemort or anyone if Ron were killed. This may have sent a mixed message though. I think ultimately that Rowling knows she is teaching morals to kids and she would want a happy ending. This is why I do believe we will learn that Ron and Hermione have gotten married and that Harry and Ginny have done the same and all live happily ever after... until?
Wendy's thoughts:
Is Harry Potter destined to die? I believe so, but not because I want it to happen. Before that event, however, I think readers will be treated to a rip-roaring adventure the likes of which history has never seen. The ending will be bittersweet, satisfying, yet leaving a wistful wish for something different, something more.
Very soon we can all discover the official J.K. Rowlings version, but here's how I think it will play out:
The book may well open with government plotting, or perhaps news reports of events, or a look at what the dark wizards are up to. Eventually we'll finally see Harry, in his brief visit to his Aunt and Uncle's house. Dudley will give him strange looks when he announces he's leaving for good, Vernon will bluster on that he expects him to send them some of his inheritance to pay for all the money they put into him. Petunia, at the last minute as he's leaving, will make a surprise, private request for him to keep in touch. Then it will be off to the wedding, where Percy will show up uninvited. Molly will welcome him, others will tell him to leave. Just after a beautiful ceremony, when the party is in full swing, an evil disturbance will break things up. After Harry deals with the crisis, with help, he heads to Godrics Hollow. He finds a clue there for a horcrux, and follows up on it, with help from Ron and Hermione. Hogwarts won't re-open, but Harry will visit and use it's resources.
After he destroys that horcrux, he goes to 12 Grimmauld and finds out what the Order, now led by McGonagall, is up to, which causes him to go to Hogwarts to visit Dumbledore's portrait. Dumbledore reveals that he still has a few post mortem tricks up his sleeve, and Harry gets a clue about where to go next. Dumbledore tells him to visit his brother, Aberforth, who is the bartender at the Hogs Head pub.
In a later trip to Grimmauld, Harry finds the rubbish collection Kreacher has stowed, and in it is the locket no one could open. Sirius's brother Regulus had replaced the locket with RAB where he got the horcrux from. Harry discovers it's a horcrux and destroys it after getting another clue out of it.
At some point in the book, Harry will have mini adventures with each of Lupin and Hagrid, or at least get valuable information from them. Dumbledore will tell him to talk to Kreacher, and he gets info from him. It will be revealed that Olivander was forced to make Voldemort a new wand that will be able to fight with Harry's.
Towards the end Harry realizes Scrimgeour and the ministry aurors can be useful, and works with them somewhat after he finds out Shunpike really was guilty. He also finds the deathly hallows, which are holy objects deadly to evil. After all the horcruxes are destroyed, Harry tracks down Voldemort. He is shocked to find out Snape is really on his side, and Dumbledore had ordered him to kill him so he could maintain his cover. Dumbledore didn't explain the plan to Harry because he isn't good at occlumency so Harry would accidentally blow Snape's cover when Voldemort read his mind. Snape dies saving Harry's life, and Draco joins forces with Harry in the final fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Harry defeats Voldemort with help from the mysterious particles in the department of mysteries, causing Voldemort to die of "goodness." Harry dies, too, however, having been wounded, or totally drained of his life energy or goodness particles. He joins Sirius where he is through the curtain, and they are reunited for eternity as souls in something similar to heaven.
As you can see, the three of us agree on quite a few things, with a few key differences. Just as importantly, our readers that sent in their opinions each have their own intriguing viewpoint. Which of us, if any, are right? We shall see very soon, and be back in Issue Five to discuss how we all did and let you score your exams. Have fun reading, all!
