Another massive effort is being undertaken to save Jericho yet again

In the face of the second CBS cancellation of the show, a new effort has begun to keep Jericho alive.  This time, there will be no “nuts” campaign to CBS to try to get them to renew the show.  Still, heartened by the success of the previous effort, Jericho fans are energized and ready to go another round.

Instead, Rangers (which is what the Jericho faithful call themselves) are debating what channel to target as the best choice to pick up the show and how best to show their loyalty.  The front runners for trying to get the show picked up have been the CW and the SciFi Channel, who have both already shown some interest.  In recent days the SciFi Channel seems to have become the number one choice.  As far as how to show their loyalty, some are suggesting flying “Don’t Tread On Me” flags in their front yards and sending photos of the flags to the chosen networks.  Others are recommending email, mail and/or phone campaigns to those same networks.  Yet others are contacting their local press in cities around the nation in an effort to gain more attention.  Many are gathering on the CBS.com or SciFi.com forums, but those who realize the problems inherent in running this kind of campaign at the very places in question are looking elsewhere.  The press contact seems to be working, as more and more articles are popping up and many of them are pointing to one single website called JerichoNet2 as the main source of the effort.

Located at www.jerichonet2.com, the site was around for the first fight last year, but was a fairly small player.  Not so this time.  In recent weeks, the site has grown by leaps and bounds as more and more Rangers are choosing to use this site as their front line on the battleground to save Jericho.

And the members of this site are highly organized.  The forum threads include contact info for those directly involved with the production of the show at CBS Paramount and at the SciFi Channel, as well as state-by-state breakdowns of media to contact and regular updates of any news coming out of the companies involved.

And business is booming.  Hundreds of posts and updates are flying up onto the JerichoNet2 site every day as the campaign to save the show gains in strength.

Will all of this effort work a second time?  Your guess is as good as mine, but it’s looking pretty good so far.  One thing’s for sure.  SciFi Studios readers will be among the first to know!
